Using methods taught by Stanislavski, Uta Hagen, and Viola Spolin, and applying them to voice acting, we blend memory and imagination to immerse ourselves in situations of our own design. The result is unpredictable, unforgettable, inimitable, truthful performances with our whole bodies and souls, conveyed entirely through the voice alone. The three series are performance labs, with plenty of time to try, apply, and experiment with various techniques.

TESTIMONIALS
This class broke down script analysis even more. It was more than the usual "What is this script about?" How to add in imagination and memory to inspire performance. To feel it rather than think about it.

Well, if you want to understand what an actor is, then this is it in its basic form.

Every voice actor that has mental blocks would benefit greatly from your curriculum, no question. Add in a great blend of new and familiar people, all with great reinforcement and feedback to make you better. ...it’s different in you ask frequently how a read made us feel, and that dynamic conversation is very much in the moment and immediately applicable. Thank you for what you’re doing for us. And thank you to everyone’s time as fellow voice actors as well. You are so loved and appreciated.

The Zone is a supportive, low-pressure space to explore acting in a way that feels fun and accessible. Sam guides with clarity and encouragement, making it easy to take risks and try new things. The exercises and character work are directly applicable to all genres of voiceover, giving me practical tools to bring more authenticity and connection to every script.

I've loved The Zone experience. Having each session dedicated to a specific concept, hearing an explanation and seeing a demonstration first, have been so helpful in better understanding each core principle. The class format allows you to learn from how others are learning too which keeps me from being too much in my own bubble. I see growth in myself after each class which is amazing. I would 100% take this series over again if given the chance and would recommend it to anyone looking to improve their craft.

New to voice acting and voice over? …experiencing some challenges finding your “authencity” while addressing acting and the script? I am and it’s OK! My challenge? Simply, it’s expanding my understanding of and developing my acting abilities. I need to bring more breadth and depth to my analysis and resulting auditions, with a more thorough examination of who I am as I’m acting the character or the storyteller in/of the script, and casting my role in relationship to who I’m acting to and in reaction to a moment prior to my “scene.”
Where am I finding an opportunity to learn more about this and have both a mentor and accountability group to engage with; a space where it’s all about support, encouragement, and growing…together? I’m proud to be a “charter” member of The Zone! It’s new, we’re new, it’s all new but it’s exactly what I need for that examination of how to analyze a script and bring it forward with a “deep dive” into various techniques of acting…and in a manner that is simultaneously accessible and challenging.
Our mentor is Suzanne Malek (ahumanvoiceover.com). BRAVA! to “Sam”, as she is caring, creative, incredibly intuitive and instinctive in her assessment of our needs, and able to impart thoughts, ideas, strategies, and encouragement to each of us Zone members, as individuals as well as a collective! Being in “The Zone” (not trite) will have you listen, think think, improvise, and ACT! …but with the grace and permission to stumble, experience breakthroughs, gain comfort and confidence…all with Sam’s guidance and the collaborative spirit of your peers/friends!
I encourage you to explore this opportunity…give it time to resonate and organically grow within you.
Be patient…curious…flexible…and not afraid to make choices, lots of choices! Sam will most certainly embrace and champion your every effort!
